We are looking for a strategic, high-level leader to serve as our next Director of Afterschool Programs. They are calm under pressure, able to make thoughtful decisions in fast-paced environments, and skilled at balancing compliance, operations, and culture while building strong relationships with staff, families, and community partners. Most importantly, they are passionate about helping programs grow while maintaining high standards of safety, inclusion, and quality.
This role is ideal for a leader who understands both the business and heart of youth programming.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the strategic direction and growth of our afterschool programs.
- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, enrollment planning, and operational sustainability.
- Ensure full compliance with Florida DCF licensing and regulatory standards.
- Guide staffing structures, training expectations, and performance management processes..
- Oversee inclusion and special needs programming from a compliance and structural standpoint
- Partner with organizational leadership, families, schools, and community stakeholders.
- Provide senior leadership support during summer camp season.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in youth development, school-age childcare, or afterschool programming.
- Strong understanding of Florida DCF licensing and compliance.
- Experience managing budgets, projections, and operational planning.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Florida Director Credential or FCCPC completed or actively in process.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Passion for creating high-quality, inclusive youth experiences.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This role requires the ability to move throughout a multi-building campus and actively support program operations in both indoor and outdoor environments, including during South Florida weather conditions. The position may require standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds, and responding quickly in emergency situations involving children, staff, or families.
