J Days is seeking energetic, dependable, and compassionate After Care Leaders to help create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our students after the school day ends. We are committed to building a team that values inclusion, teamwork, and child development. We especially welcome applicants with experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioral, developmental, or physical needs. What You'll Do:

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students during after-school hours.
Lead engaging games, crafts, enrichment activities, and outdoor play.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
Assist students with homework and academic support as needed.
Communicate professionally with parents regarding daily updates and concerns.
Work collaboratively with fellow counselors and program leadership to provide a high-quality after-school experience.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity space while following all licensing and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, recreation, or after-school setting preferred.
DCF 40-Hour Introductory Child Care Training is required (or must be completed prior to employment, as applicable).
Experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioral, developmental, or physical needs is highly preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Positive attitude, patience, reliability, and professionalism.
Ability to lead engaging activities and build positive relationships with children.
CPR and First Aid Certification are a plus.
Coursework in Education, Child Development, Recreation, Psychology, or a related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, kneel, squat, sit, stand, and walk throughout campus.
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to set up and break down activity spaces, including moving tables, chairs, and equipment.
